documentingBlues has made some awesome new friends from down under! The Baton Rouge Arts Council's current musicians in residence, New Zealand blues duo Swamp Thing, will perform at the legendary Teddy's Juke Joint this Friday April 24th! Jenn has been hanging out with them, photographing them, and showing them some Louisiana culture for the past week and can't wait for y'all to see what they're made of! Come hang out and see one of the best blues duos around! There will be $10 cover charge at the door.
documentingBlues has exciting news to share about a fundraising opportunity where you can benefit from the sales of the recent release of “Blues on Beale Street: Memoirs of the International Blues Challenge” photo book!
The debut was a huge success at the 2015 IBC. Here are two ways you can choose to raise money for your organization!
With this first fundraising option, you have the opportunity to raise the most money. We have created a wholesale program exclusively for you to make 30% of the book’s sale. Your organization buys the books at the wholesale price of $31.50, with a minimum order of ten books, plus shipping. The suggested retail price is $45.00. You can sell them on websites, at your merchant tables, at society meetings, etc. Let us know where you will be selling them, and we will cross promote with you! We have even had a couple of organizations find members to underwrite the wholesale cost, so the organization receives the full amount from the sale of the book. You can confirm your participation in this wholesale opportunity by filling out the form here. We will then email you an invoice. Once the invoice is paid in full we will mail the order with in two business days.
There is a second option, in which there is no upfront cost to you. When the consumer purchases the book online at the dBlues store, they have the option to choose an affiliate, like yours, as the benefitting organization. At the end of each month, you will receive 15% of the proceeds of the purchases ($4.05 per book sold online). Your organization can become a dBlues affiliate by filling out the form here.
In return for joining the dBlues affiliate team, we ask that you post information about being a benefitting affiliate to your websites, Facebook pages, and profiles. Once you sign up, will send you graphics appropriate to be used for all social media platforms! If you choose the wholesale option, you will automatically be added to the online store as a dBlues benefitting affiliate.
Thanks for your support and consideration in this great fundraising opportunity for your organization and for partnering with documentingBlues.com!
Thanks so much to everyone who came out to celebrate with Jenn last Wednesday for her closing reception at the Shaw Center for the Arts for her documentingBlues Fine Art Collection!
We had a great turnout! Jenn was there to sign copies of her new photo book "Blues on Beale Street: Memoirs of The International Blues Challenge" and we sold quite a few copies too! There was food, drink, and live music from Carter Wilkinson, Ben Tozier, and Jacob Hubbs of Baton Rouge Music Studios Young Band Nation Blues Project.
If you didn't have a chance to make it out that night, you can see some of her documentingBlues gallery images and order a copy of "Blues on Beale Street" online in our dBlues Store
Special thanks to Priscilla and Lindsey at the Shaw Center, and to Jess, Sarah, Jordan and Kaju for the support and making the event so successful!
