documentingBlues has made some awesome new friends from down under! The Baton Rouge Arts Council's current musicians in residence, New Zealand blues duo Swamp Thing, will perform at the legendary Teddy's Juke Joint this Friday April 24th! Jenn has been hanging out with them, photographing them, and showing them some Louisiana culture for the past week and can't wait for y'all to see what they're made of! Come hang out and see one of the best blues duos around! There will be $10 cover charge at the door.
Jenn is having a closing reception for her documentingBlues collection photographs that have been on display at the Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge! Come out on Wednesday April 8th from 6-8:30PM to help celebrate her artwork and get your signed copy of "Blues on Beale Street: Memoirs of The International Blues Challenge!"

A few weeks ago, Jenn got to celebrate Teddy Johnson's "69th" birthday (again) at Teddy's Juke Joint in Zachary, Louisiana! They had been advertising Teddy's birthday celebration all over Facebook for weeks with these great ads below! At the end of the night, Jenn gifted Teddy one of her amazing documentingBlues collection prints that's framed in a vintage door. The photo showed Teddy and his wife Nancy dancing at one of Larry Garner's performances from 2013 at the juke joint. Jenn has been photographing blues musicians at Teddy's Juke Joint for years now, and has grown close with Teddy and Nancy. Thanks to James Huval for helping us catch the great moments!
Jenn will be "Sittin' at the Crossroad with Big D" TODAY at 2PM central on WWOZ 90.7 FM New Orleans! She will be talking about documentingBlues and our photo book"Blues on Beale Street: Memoirs of The International Blues Challenge."
